• Keep your wicks trimmed or they will tend to smoke.
• If you see a mushroom on your wick, this is a friendly reminder not only that your wick needs trimming, but also that you are burning a highly scented candle!
• Burn candles away from drafts. A draft will cause your candle to burn unevenly, drip and smoke.
• Keep candles out of strong light. It will make the color fade.
• Did you ever have a candle tunnel down the middle, leaving the sides untouched? This can be caused by one of 2 things: Not keeping the wick trimmed and insufficient initial burn. Keep the wicks trimmed to a ¼”. Gel candles, like their wax counterparts need a good initial burn to establish themselves. First burns should be 2-3 hours long.
• Do not burn candles more than ½ inch from bottom of container. This will prevent possible heat damage to counter or surface.
• Do not burn candles more than 3-4 hours at a time.
• Never leave a burning candle unattended…never forget a lit candle is fire.
• Keep burning candles out of the reach of children and pets.
• Ensure that flammable materials are removed from the vicinity of the flame.
• To prevent uneven burning of the candle, keep out of drafts and away from excessive vibrations.
• Extinguish flame by gently blowing out or use a snuffer. This will prevent wax from splattering. Never use water. Do not replace lid until cool.
• If you have a candle with trees inside, be sure to remove them as the gel begins to burn down.
